The Fox Chase Review presents The Fox Chase Reading Series “Featured Poets” reading at 3 Sisters Corner Café in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia. This month’s featured poets are Samantha Barrow and Joe Roarty. The reading is on February 27th at 2pm. The featured poets will be followed by an open mic.
Samantha Barrow is a nationally celebrated poet, performer, activist and educator. She’s been known to ride her motorcycle around the country, sharing her work in bars, universities, libraries, cafes and sex shops. She is the author of GRIT and tender membrane, (Plan B Press), Jelly, ( a chapbook, Tiger/Monkey Alliance), and Chap, (self published). Her poetry, prose, reviews and interviews have been widely placed in places such as Off Our Backs, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia City Paper, Lesbian Nation and Feminist Review. Joe Roarty has been a presence on various poetry scenes for over 30 years. Roarty is known as Chicagos Beat Poet due to his use of a drum while reading his unique work. Joe recently re-located to the Philadelphia area. Roarty has established a presence on the open mic circuit in Philadelphia and New York.
