Van Buskirk and Krok in Fox Chase March 27th

The Fox Chase Reading Series, Featured Poets Reading, presents Poets Bill Van Buskirk and Peter Krok on March 27th @2pm at 3 Sisters Corner Café, 7950 Oxford Ave., Philadelphia, Pa. 19111. Van Buskirk and Krok will be followed by an open mic.

 . Bill Van Buskirk is a Business professor by day and a Poet the rest of the time. He has published in the Comstock Review, Paterson Literary Review, LIPS, and many other journals. He has won five Ginsberg awards for his work. His book: This Wild Joy that Thrills Outside the Law won the Joie de Vivre Poetry Contest sponsored by the Mad Poet’s Review. His chapbook: Everything that’s Fragile is Important was a finalist in the Jesse Bryce Niles competition sponsored by the Comstock Review. He lives in Bethlehem with his poet-wife Lisa Baron, two children Elizabeth and Sam and the dog, Kazoo—the best singer in the family. He teaches at La Salle University


Peter Krok is the editor of the Schuylkill Valley Journal and serves as the humanities/poetry director of the Manayunk Art Center where he has coordinated a literary series since 1990. Because of his identification with row house and red brick Philadelphia , he is often referred to as “the red brick poet.” His poems have appeared in the Yearbook of American Poetry, America, Mid-America Poetry Review, Midwest Quarterly, Poet Lore, Potomac Review, Blue Unicorn and numerous other print and on-line journals. In 2005 his poem “10 PM At a Philadelphia Recreation Center ” was included in Common Wealth: Contemporary Poets on Pennsylvania (published by Penn State University ).
