Looking for an Eye by Peter Krok

 A poetic review by:

Rodger Lowenthal* – The Fox Chase Review

 .

“gaze”   “staring”   “eye(s)”   “look”   see(s)”

force and purpose of sight

.

     haiku like precision

.

and all the usual questions

why   where    who   when

“how do you explain”

how do we see “answers”

.

mix in sharp metaphors

a wound of desire/ he cannot close

Twilight combs the corners of rooftops

eye = vision = a first step to understanding

what do we dare  Do the consequences of our question/

   make us what we are

.

go past the eyes   throw off

the superficial to

“the nooks of time we never left”

now   do you see into the pockets of memory

     do you under stand

how the light is married to the dark

.
