Poetry Heals—-Literature & Medicine Celebrates Poem in Your Pocket Day

April 26, 2012

In celebration of Poem in Your Pocket Day on April  26, the New Jersey Council for the Humanities’ Literature &  Medicine program and CavanKerry Press have created an online chapbook of  poems about illness, healing and medicine at www.njch.org/poetryheals.html .

Thirty full-text poems are available for printing and sharing with co-workers, family and friends. Research has shown that reading and writing literature improves medical practice, so we’re offering this unique collection especially for healthcare workers, but the issues that these poems address are meaningful for everyone. If you use any of these poems, please let us know!
