Editor’s Note: The Fox Chase Deli closed its doors on March 5, 2015. See below.
We are regular customers of The Fox Chase Deli. The Deli has a nice neighborhood quality and the staff is friendly. They offer a full selection of lunch meats, cheeses and salads and are known for their outstanding potato salad. Their breakfast sandwiches are made fresh on the premises and they offer combinations of eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage and scrapple served on a roll or wrap of your choice.
The lunch menu consists of what you would expect from a traditional delicatessen. A full sandwich menu to include hot sandwiches, Corned Beef, Roast Beef and Turkey specials, a great line of Hoagies and Flour or Wheat Wraps. Having sampled much of the menu I can tell you a sandwich at this deli will leave you fat and happy for the rest of the day. The deli also offers Stocks pound cake, specialty snacks and a full range of snacks and drinks.
Today we will cover their House Signature Sandwiches. The Deli offers seven signature sandwiches. On our last visit we ordered the Roast Pork. It is served hot on a 9 inch roll with sharp provolone and either broccoli rabe or sautéed spinach. We sat at the window counter that has seating for eight overlooking the hustle and bustle of Oxford Avenue. There is also table seating. The 9 inch roll was full of excellent pork, provolone and topped with sautéed spinach. The presentation was simply outstanding and the combination delightful.
Our daughters enjoy The Fox Rock. This signature sandwich is also served hot on a 9 inch roll filled with sliced chicken breast, imported havarti cheese, spinach, and tomato, onion and honey mustard. It is a must have if you visit the deli.
The other Signature Sandwiches are:
Italian: served on a 9 inch roll filled with cappicolla or imported ham, sharp provolone and roasted red peppers.
Turkey: Served on a 9 inch roll filled with provolone, roasted red peppers and sundried tomatoes.
The Oxford Avenue: Served on a 9 inch roll filled with roast beef, turkey, sharp provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion , spices and roasted red peppers.
The Fox Chase: Grilled on sourdough bread filled with roast beef, swiss cheese, horseradish sause, tomato, onion and honey mustard.
The Marine: Served on a 9 inch roll filled with buffalo chicken, bleu cheese, onion, tomato, hot sause and melted hot pepper cheese.
The Signature Sandwiches are all made with fresh rolls and ingredients and you can have one in the seven dollar range. It a good bang for your buck.. The deli also has a great catering menu if you would like them to cater your event. They also offer delivery service on all menu items.
