A few hundred residents of Fox Chase enjoyed A Stroll Down Oxford Avenue this past Saturday. The event spearheaded by The Fox Chase Deli and organized by Tori Eliff was a great success. Cintiolli’s Music sponsored live music with A.J. Slick, Mirror Men and students performing in the 7900 Block of Oxford Avenue. A moon bounce was set up in Lions Park for the enjoyment of neighborhood kids and The Blooming Artist Studio and Fox Chase Reading Series had tables set up in the park. All in Time provided free watch batteries and Sally’s Flowers held a ½ price sidewalk sale and RGB Computers had a table set up. Prizes were raffled off from All in Time, Semper Fi, Blooming Artist Studio, In The Loop Cafe and Euphoria Hair Salon.  Fox Chase Deli served up Hamburgers and Hot Dogs until 3pm when the first annual hoagie eating contest was held.  Yours truly won, ( 6 hoagies in 10 minutes), and received a beautiful assortment of gifts from the business folks on the 7900 Block of Oxford Avenue. Ted Killen of The Fox Chase Deli was delighted at the attendance, ” It was a great afternoon with great participation. Sponsoring businesses will meet again and we hope to plan a fall event that the people of Fox Chase can enjoy.”
