The Fox Chase Reading Series is pleased to present our Featured Poets/Writers Reading on May 18th with Poets Linda Nemec Foster and Lynn Levin at Ryerss Museum and Library, 7370 Central Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa. 19111. . The reading will begin @ 2pm in the second floor gallery of the museum. The features will be followed by an open reading.
Linda Nemec Foster is the author of nine collections of poetry including Amber Necklace from Gdansk (finalist for the Ohio Book Award in Poetry) and Listen to the Landscape (short-listed for the Michigan Notable Book Award). Her most recent book, Talking Diamonds, was honored by ForeWord Magazine as a finalist for the Book of the Year Award in 2010. Foster’s poetry has also been published in numerous magazines and journals such as The Georgia Review, Nimrod, North American Review, New American Writing, Connecticut Review, River Styx, and Quarterly West. From 2003-05, she served as the first Poet Laureate of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Foster is the founder of the Contemporary Writers Series at Aquinas College. Lynn Levin is the author of three collections of poems, Fair Creatures of an Hour Imaginarium, and A Few Questions about Paradise , all published by Loonfeather Press and Miss Plastique published by Ragged Sky Press. Imaginarium was a finalist for ForeWord Magazine’s 2005 Book of the Year Award. Her poems have appeared in Cimarron Review, 5 AM, Boulevard, The Schuylkill Valley Journal of the Arts, Hunger Mountain, Margie, on Garrison Keillor’s show, The Writer’s Almanac, Verse Daily, and many other places. Lynn Levin teaches at the University of Pennsylvania and at Drexel University, where she is also the executive producer of the TV show, The Drexel InterView™.
