Director, Peter Reynolds courtesy of Temple TheatersPeter Reynolds has once again breathed new life into an American musical classic, Brigadoon. Armed with choreographer, Maggie Anderson; musical director, Amanda Morton; and Fred Duers, design team, he is able to present a refreshing updated version of Brigadoon.Choreographer, Maggie Anderson courtesy Temple Theater

Fiona and Tommy are played by Nicole Renna and Matthew Lulofs and Katie Horner and Ronnie Keller. Then there are Grant Struble, in a brilliant performance as Jeff Douglas; Monica Fischer as Jean MacLaren; and Jordan Dobson as Charlie Daylrmple. The production is fortunate to have an excellent supporting cast including Philadelphia stage veterans Donna Snow  and Robert Jason Jackson .Nicole Renna and Matthew Lulofs courtesy of temple theaters

maary guarnieri compliments of temple theatrsMary Guarnieri, as Maggie Anderson, and Cody Knable, as Harry Beaton provide the dramatic tension in this production, as two people in love with others who do not want them. Knalbe and Guarnieri are intense performers with stage presence. Guarnieri performed the “Funeral Dance” following Beaton’s, (Knalble) death. There were few, if any, dry eyes in the house following her brilliant dance performance.

Temple University’s Musical Theater Department has developed an outstanding pool of talent when recruiting students. Reynolds and his staff continue to up the bar for productions in Philadelphia. Brigadoon is a must see production at the  Tomlinson Theater.
