Barrow and Roarty Warm Up Fox Chase

The Fox Chase Reading Series “Featured Poets Reading” at 3 Sisters Corner Cafe featured Samantha Barrow and Joe Roarty who quickly melted the snow in Fox Chase. The Features gave an excellent reading followed by an outstanding open mic with Diane Sahms Guarnieri, Bill Van Buskirk, Theresa Halscheid, Rodger Lowenthal, Dave Worrell and Tamara Oakman. Reminder: Barrow and Roarty in Fox Chase Feb. 27th

The Fox Chase Review presents The Fox Chase Reading Series “Featured Poets” reading at 3 Sisters Corner Café in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia. This month’s featured poets are Samantha Barrow and Joe Roarty. The reading is on February 27th at 2pm. The featured poets will be followed by an open mic. 

Samantha Barrow is a nationally celebrated poet, performer, activist and educator. She’s been known to ride her motorcycle around the country, sharing her work in bars, universities, libraries, cafes and sex shops. She is the author of GRIT and tender membrane, (Plan B Press), Jelly, ( a chapbook, Tiger/Monkey Alliance), and Chap, (self published). Her poetry, prose, reviews and interviews have been widely placed in places such as Off Our Backs, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia City Paper, Lesbian Nation and Feminist Review.  Joe Roarty has been a presence on various poetry scenes for over 30 years. Roarty is known as Chicagos Beat Poet due to his use of a drum while reading his unique work. Joe recently re-located to the Philadelphia area. Roarty has established a presence on the open mic circuit in Philadelphia and New York. Fox Chase Reading Series 2010 Schedule

The Fox Chase Reading Series is on hiatus for the rest of this year. Our 2010 season kicks off on January 12 with “2nd Tuesdays Poetry Open Mic” at The Blue Ox Bistro followed by our featured poet series at 3 Sisters Corner Café on January 30th

The Winter/Spring 2010 Edition of The Fox Chase Review will be released sometime in January of 2010. This edition will feature both poetry and fiction. We will keep you posted on the release date.
